  6. When procedure is completed, turn off suction and disconnect catheter from suction tubing. Remove gloves inside out and dispose of gloves, catheter, and container with solution in proper  receptacle. Perform hand hygiene.
  7. Adjust patient’s position. Auscultate chest to evaluate breath sounds.
  8. Record time of suctioning and nature and amount of secretions. Also note character of patient’s respirations before and after suctioning.

Check NCLEX results fast

Have you heard of PearsonVue Trick (PVT)?

For lots of NCLEX takers, waiting for the NCLEX result is the most stressful part. That’s why some candidates would pay $7.95 at Pearsonvue just to view the Quick Results, but not all state Board of Nursing participate in that service.
Pearsonvue Trick hints you about your NCLEX result, sometimes hours after taking the exam. Yes, it’s quicker than Quick Results, and most of all free. Even candidates whose state Board of Nursing does not participate in QR can utilize this method of checking NCLEX result.
Alright, I’ll give you the steps on how to do Pearsonvue trick for checking the NCLEX results fast with images.
1. Type address http://pearsonvue.com/nclex/activity/. Login your Username and Password, as shown below:

2. Click ‘Register’ button.

3. Choose your Exam Type. Below NCLEX-RN was selected. Click ‘Next’.

4. Select Country of Test Center Location. Click ‘Next’.
In the next items, you may answer only the required field (with *).
5. Click ‘Yes’ in first Question, then select your Country in drop down menu Wait for page to refresh.

6. Leave the City and Program Code fields blank if you’re in foreign country, as shown below. Click ‘Search’ and again, wait for the page to refresh.

7. Then select the Country(or your nursing programwith Program Code) that appeared after refresh, as shown below. Click ‘Next’.

  • If you failed, the registration will continue and ask you for Payment, credit card details.

  • If you get a pop up that says ‘The candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time.’, it has nothing to do with passing or failing; it means you will possibly have to wait a few more days and do the Pearsonvue trick again.

How to fight colds and flu!!!

Many different viruses can cause colds and flu. They are passed on by inhaling infected droplets that have been sneezed or coughed into the air or by touching an area with live infection.

Symptoms of cold & flu
A runny or blocked nose, sore throat, sneezing, cough, headache and mild fever are all signs of the common cold flu symptoms are similar but the fever is usually higher, alternating with chills and accompanied by sweating, aches and pain and fatigue.

Try It: Vitamin D
In a study published recently in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, children who took daily vitamin D supplements (1,200 IU) were 40 percent less likely to get a common flu virus than kids who took a placebo. Laboratory studies indicate that the nutrient may help immune cells identify and destroy bacteria and viruses that make us sick, says Adit Ginde, M.D., M.P.H., a public health researcher at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver.

Want to try something different?

Here are natural ways to knock out a cold or flu using herbal a remedies.
1. Eat plenty of leeks and green onions.
These herbs have powerful cold fighting properties. You can eat healthy vegetable soup with leeks or green onions in it. This will make you sweat , but don't take a shower whlie you have fever. Just clean your body with wet towel and change the night clothe and sleep well.
2. Take a large clove of Garlic, peel and keep it in your mouth.
Bite down every so-often to release the natural juices. Replace with a new clove every four or five hours. Your cold symptoms should be to gone in twenty four, to forty eight hours.
3. Your nose all stuffed up?
Try eating some hot or spicy foods which should open up those blocked nasal passages and you won't have the rebound effect of taking too many nose drops!
4. Not hungry?
Try a few minutes of vigorous exercise. The increased oxygen demand of your body will almost certainly cause you to breathe deeper and help open-up your blocsked nasal passages naturally.
5. Chest congestion
can be effectively cleared up by breathing a mixture of hot vinegar, or white wine. Breath in the vapors for a few minutes, and you should get relief!
6. Coughs and sore throats can be controlled with several home remedies.
A classic requires a large lemon. Start by slowing roasting it until it just splits open. Now take up to half a teaspoon of honey with the juice from the lemon. Repeat at hourly intervals until the cough is under control.
7. Feel better with elderberry
Elderberry tea to treat respiratory infections, now scientific evidence suggests that taking a standardized elderberry extract can shorten the length of time you're sick by 50 percent.
8. Soothe a sore throat
Drink a tea made of mucilaginous herbs such as marshmallow or slippery elm, which coat the throat.
9. Stop the cough
When you can't quit coughing, drink hot ginger tea. Ginger stimulates circulation and helps clear your sinuses and lungs of mucus. You may also get some relief with the natural cough suppressant, bromelain, an enzyme from pineapple.
10. Breathe easier
One of the best ways to open clogged sinus and bronchial passages is to breathe warm steam to which you've added essential oil of eucalyptus.

PRC targets February 20 to release December 2010 NLE Results

One of the Board of Nursing (B0N) member Marco Antonio Sto. Tomas revealed via Facebook that the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC) is targeting February 20, 2011 (Sunday) as the release date of the December 2010 Nursing Licencure Exam or December 2010 NLE Results

Sto. Tomas posted on his Facebook wall,

"Perhaps it will help if people like those awaiting results will offer prayers for us too! We also wish to finish and release the results because this is not the only job BoN is engaged in.. the 20th is a reasonable target and we and the rest of the PRC staff are working on it even on saturdays and sundays, up to midnight..."

He added that the December 2010 NLE takers should just turn their anxieties to prayers, instead.

"...to process examinations for 84-85,000 examinees X 5 subjects is certainly not a joke so turn your anxieties into prayers instead, be faithful to our "calling" but be open to God's will all the more," Sto. Tomas posted on his Facebook page."

The December 2010 Nursing Board Exam was held last December 19-20, 2010. But with the volume of exam papers to check the BoN is having a real hard time to release the date at soonerdate as everyone would like to.

The results of the nursing board exam will be posted when available here.
